Achievements

Empowering Cooperatives

The program surpassed its target for registered cooperative societies and their memberships, fostering a more inclusive economy.

Boosting MSMEs

The Ministry exceeded its target for loans issued through the County Empowerment Fund, directly supporting micro and small businesses.

Enhancing Market Infrastructure

The program established four cottage industries, exceeding its target and promoting value addition within the county.

Promoting Fair Trade Practices

The Ministry achieved its targets for enforcing weights and measures, ensuring fair competition and protecting consumers within the county's marketplace.

The Ministry acknowledged limitations such as insufficient funding and staffing constraints. Despite these hurdles, they achieved or surpassed several targets, demonstrating their commitment to progress.

Our Minister

Madam Mawia brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role of Minister of Trade, Industry, MSMEs, Innovation, and Cooperatives. Throughout their career, She has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering economic development and empowering local businesses.

She has a proven track record of success in spearheading economic development projects. This experience, coupled with a deep understanding of Kitui’s unique economic landscape, positions her to effectively guide the Ministry in achieving its goals of creating a thriving business environment, promoting job creation, and driving sustainable economic growth for the county.
