Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has called for closer collaboration between the County Executive and County Assembly as the county enters the final year of the 2022–2027 administration.

Dr. Malombe spoke in Mombasa during the County Executive–County Assembly consultative sessions, which provide an opportunity to review the achievements of the Kitui Promise, identify gaps and set priorities for the final year.

“Government is ultimately about people. Budgets, policies, projects, programmes and institutions have meaning only when they improve the quality of life of the citizens we serve.” He said.

The Governor said the county had made significant progress across sectors, with impactful projects delivered in each sector, and urged the two arms of government to strengthen coordination, complete ongoing programmes and uphold accountability and professionalism.

Speaker Katisya Kinengo said the two arms must focus on project implementation, completing ongoing projects, addressing stalled programmes and improving service delivery.

The meeting brings together MCAs and senior county officials to review progress since 2022 and agree on priorities for the final year.
