KIMWASCO wishes to recruit a competent, visionary leader to fill the following executive position:
Executive Leadership Vacancy
Managing Director
General Purpose
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the MD will provide strategic leadership, ensure implementation of board decisions, establish management systems aligned to strategic goals, improve operational efficiency, and ensure statutory compliance.
Remuneration As per company salary structure (competitive executive package).
Key Responsibilities
a) Corporate Management & Administration
- Manage key stakeholders & strategic leadership
- Implement board decisions & company strategy
- Manage board calendar & decision support info
- Statutory compliance & change management
- HR management & authorized officer duties
b) Financial Management & Revenue Mobilization
- Accounting officer (PFM Act 2012)
- Programme-based budget & statutory standards
- Internal Control System & financial risk mitigation
- Budget absorption, revenue mobilization & partnerships
- Asset/liability management & audit processes
c) Project & Operations Management
- Sustainable water project design & documentation
- Project completion & infrastructure maintenance
- Coordinate large operations & teams
- Leverage tech to reduce non-revenue water & costs
- Other duties as assigned by Board
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in: Business Management, Economics, Agribusiness, Water/Environmental/Civil Engineering, Law, Water Resources Mgt, Project Management or related.
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline – added advantage.
- Registered with relevant professional body.
- Certificate in corporate governance (≥4 weeks) OR two CPD certificates.
- Minimum 15 years experience, with 10 years at senior management level (public/private).
- Deep understanding of strategic change & reforms in Kenya’s water/sanitation legal framework.
- Excellent interpersonal & leadership: strategy execution, stakeholder delight, people management.
Other Requirements
- Kenyan Citizen (attach copy of National ID or passport).
- Compliance with Chapter 6 of Constitution 2010: Clearances from HELB, DCI, KRA, CRB & EACC upon selection.
