Declaration of Vacancies in the Kitui County Public Service

Kitui County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB among them being “appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments”.
Pursuant to the above constitutional and legal provision, Kitui CPSB invites applications from qualified persons to be considered for the positions below in the County Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure, Housing and urban Development :

1. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - INFRASTRUCTURE, JOB GROUP ‘CPSB 05’ (P)ONE (1) POST

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Be a citizen of Kenya;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Relevant working experience of not less than seven (7) years;
  • Registration by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK); and

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and formulating policies and plans for infrastructure development for the County;
  • Setting targets, standards and measurement instruments for infrastructure development plans in the County;

• Knowledge in County works such as planning, design, maintenance and construction; and

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the physical facilities of the County;

• Evaluate projects in accordance with given budget;

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain all fleet related records and documents and ensure safety of vehicles;
• Design operation policies, procedures and standards including determination of safety procedures for the management of County government vehicles;
• Promoting observance of safety regulations by conducting safety audits;
• Undertaking the inspection of vehicles for evidence of misuse, damage or mechanical malfunctions;
• Providing input for the preparation of annual budget and strategic plan in regard to transport section;

• Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road;
